DRAKE: It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Amelia (Millie) Drake, widow of Ed Drake, in Brandon on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 80 years of age. Remaining to forever cherish Millies memory is her sister, Lil Sklar of Brandon. She is lovingly remembered by her extended family members, many nieces and nephews and many friends. Millie and Ed enjoyed many memorable years with family and friends at their cottage at Pelican Lake, where a glass of wine and pleasurable company was always waiting for anyone who stopped by. They also loved to travel to many vacation spots in Mexico and Southern USA. Millie will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, generosity and devotion to her family and friends. Her labours of love, included beautiful knitted afghans and creating baking items for all to enjoy. She was blessed with a long and happy life and will be deeply missed. Millie was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ed Drake, parents Nicholas and Rose, sisters Ann, Mary, Sophie, Kay and brothers Stanley, Jack and Walter. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Millie can be made to any charitable organization of choice.
